Some say the Museum went much too far. Marek Potocki, a swedish Ferrari owner, got harassed, coerced and threatened. The Ferrari Museum stopped at nothing to have Marek donate his Ferrari 430 Scuderia to the museum in Maranello.
Since the Ferrari F1 team has not won a championship in over 15 years, the management team started looking for radical ideas. As a last resort, they went to see an amazonian shaman in the nearby village of Pavullo, in hopes of finding the key ingredient to get back on the winning track.
The ayahuasca, which they consumed as a tea, was incredibly potent. The psychoactive substance sent the Ferrari officials properly into outer space with wild hallucinations for the next 24 hours. They did not show up for work the next day.
Later that fateful night, they concluded that the spirit of victory had left Ferrari on the 18th of May 2008. This is the same day Marek's car left the assembly line. The management team's conclusion was that the spirit of victory, which was necessary to win the championship, had left Maranello in Mareks car.

In order to save the season, the car had to come back.
They contacted me by email, asking me to sell the car to them. My answer was no., Marek states through a text message on Tinder.
But, the Ferrari Museum had just started. After Marek's polite decline to give up his car, the Museum simply doubled its efforts.
"It was hundreds of phone calls and emails, begging me to send them the 430 Scuderia back. After they realised I was not giving it back to them peacefully, they changed their tone."
Marek's story is anything but pretty. Threatening phone calls in the middle of the night, long letters from lawyers, perfectly groomed men in insanely expensive clothes sneaking around his house on the west coast of Sweden.
"It was crazy. They even contacted my dentist."
The breaking point came in August 2022. Marek's dog, a golden retriever named Socrates, mysteriously disappeared.
"They left a note saying that they had my dog. They also wrote something about the spirit of victory that did not make sense at all."
At this point, he agreed to trade. The dog was returned to Marek, and his car is now in the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Ferrari still failed to win the championship and the team is apparently heading back to the shaman.
