After posting some of the best financial results ever recorded in their history a few weeks ago, with over 10.000 units delivered within 2023 Lamborghini has just come out with a logo refresh.
While it is not a substantial change by any means, Lamborghini wanted it to better represent their brand identity. The main colors become a very simple combination of black and white. The thought is Minimal, yet bold. The bold part is undoubtedly on-brand, however we would argue that Lamborghini does not exactly scream minimal in their car design philosophy. And we hope it stays this way.
The accent colors remain yellow and a new, slightly different shade of gold. The version without the shield will be reserved for digital use, i.e. social media and other publications, whereas the new cars will keep using the shielded version, which is also only slightly changed. Really, only the typeface, and the width of it are modified.
Lamborghini has of course changed their logo a number of times since their inception. In the 1950s it used to be only a simple triangular logo, with Ferrucio Lamborghinis initials.
Then in 1963, they shed some of the modesty of the previous iteration, and added some style, with the typeface similar to the one on all the cars rear fascia even today, and a red shield backing the raging bull known to everyone.
In the 70s, the shield on the cars became black and gold, with a much simpler, yet bold typeface accompanying the bull.
Finally, in 1998, the bull became what we all know and love today, and what we immediately think of when we hear the name Lamborghini. However after just about 26 years, the team at SantAgata Bolognese felt it was time for a change, and we got a simpler, but no less beautiful version of the iconic bull.
The cars expected to brandish the new badge are the flagship Revuelto, the electrified version of the Urus, the Huracan successor which is to be a high-revving twin turbo V8 with electric assistance, but also the first ever fully electric Lamborghini, a 2-door SUV which is forecast to come in 2028, based off the Lanzador concept showcased in 2023.
