Our first Gran Turismo event on two wheels. The Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre, Portofino, and two dozen Vespas in every possible colour.
We are going to one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, the Italian Riviera. Three days between Portovenere, Cinque Terre and Portofino, with the sea on one side and the cliffs on the other.
Through villages, over mountain passes, and along the coast, it will be quite a sight: twenty-four Vespa riders on scooters in every possible colour. Red, yellow, mint green, and probably one colour that only exists in Italy.
The Vespa belongs here. It fits the narrow lanes, the small piazzas, the tiny harbours, the tight corners and the beautiful little roads that seem to have been designed by someone with excellent taste and a mild disregard for modern traffic regulations.

Around every corner there is another beautiful scene: fishing boats in the harbour, pastel houses stacked against the hills, laundry moving in the sea breeze, waiters carrying espresso with dangerous confidence, and the Mediterranean showing off in the background.
We will also ride through Cinque Terre, where the Vespa becomes not just charming, but clever. It lets us slip into places that larger machines cannot enjoy.
We will park in the harbour of Portofino for lunch, stop when the view demands it, and pause for coffee, gelato, photographs, viewpoints, small discoveries and no good reason at all.
In the evenings we arrive smiling, slightly sun-kissed, and very possibly wondering why all travel is not done like this.

The event takes us to Portovenere, Cinque Terre, Sestri Levante and Portofino.
Fantastic hotels and restaurants, as always. It is 5 800 euros including everything for two people sharing hotel room, and one Vespa 125 cc per person. Everyone drives their own Vespa.
