SS125 - Orientale Sarda

The best driving road in the world

There are many great roads in the world. Then, there is SS125 Orientale Sarda between the villages Dorgali and Arbatax. This is the most incredible driving experience you will ever have.

Following the side of a mountain, the driving is spectacular. Many curves and straights following each other in a furious tempo. Brake late and enjoy the perfect asphalt before pointing your car to the apex and shooting out like a cannon ball on to the next straight.

What makes the experience so great is the rhythm. The straights are short, and there is always a curve ahead to plan for. Soon you will find yourself in a trance, where only the next bend matters. You will instinctively search for the perfect line, using the entire width of the road when possible. This is heaven for the active driver with a Ferrari, Lamborghini or a Porsche supercar.

Perfect asphalt? You bet. Like nowhere else on the planet. You see, on Sardinia, they use granite in to the asphalt mix before they pour it on the street. This results in extreme durability of the surface. The roads are as perfect as a pool table. Incredible!

To this we add the fantastic scenery. The views are beautiful, especially when you can see the Mediterranean sea in the distance. This is a truly amazing road that we think is the number one in the world. We are honestly sad that it is on an Island and not on the European mainland. Now we can only visit it once, or maybe twice a year.
