SP13 - Vestito Pass

A mountain pass that was made famous from the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.

This road, in Italian called Passo dell Vestito, starts on the sea side in the town of Seravezza near to Forte dei Marmi. You will find yourself driving in a daunting looking valley going up the mountainside, which is absolutely stunning on a sunny Tuscan day.

At the very top, It takes you up into the famous Carrara white Marble mountains, where you can see the marble quarry, which would become some of the best marble on the market. Shortly later, it becomes SP13, which will take you through an incredibly beautiful forest going down the hill, and then end in the valley of Garfagnana, this is a spectacular mountain pass in the north of Tuscany, perfect for a fast and nimble sportscar like a Lotus.

It was made famous from the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, where James is involved in a violent car chase with his Aston Martin. At one point, the door is ripped off.

It is a beautiful drive, but at times the road gets quite narrow at the highest point of the passes. You need to be a bit careful. Pay attention and enjoy the views. It takes about an hour to complete the pass.
