Registration for Gran Turismo Zandvoort 2011 is closed.
The former formula one track Zandvoort is located some 30 minutes from Amsterdam and is one of the great tracks in the world.
Racing drivers rank it in the top five with Spa-Francorchamps, Nurburgring, Le Mans and Laguna Seca.
Constructed as early as 1948 the track has undergone several modifications until it reached its present layout. The present layout uses many of the original features, including steep hills and declines. Features not often seen on other circuits, making it an extremely fun experience.
On Zandvoort you will join the participants of Gran Turismo Spa who started with a day on Spa-Francorchamps on Tuesday and went to Nurburgring on Wednesday. The participants come from all over Europe and bring the most exotic machinery to the Netherlands.
This is the only race track in the world where a fast lap means that you have been airborn at least once.
You have fast and sweeping corners such as Scheivlak as well as the famous "Tarzan hairpin" at the end of the start/finish straight. Very few modern tracks have retained a "velodrom-style" corner in their layout and it allows for great overtaking opportunities.
The corner is reportedly named after a local character who had earned the nickname of Tarzan and only wanted to give up his vegetable garden in the dunes if the track's designers named a nearby corner after him. Others say it takes the guts of Tarzan to really make use of the camber for silly fast exit speeds.

The Okura is a five star hotel in Amsterdam. It is 24 stories tall and houses a neat sky bar and french restaurant in the top. Two of its four restaurants are awarded with Michelin stars.
It also has something that is extremely rare in the city of Amsterdam. A parking lot which can host 80+ super cars. It is also reasonably easy to enter with an ultra-low exotic and has the security in place to guard our expensive toys overnight.
We will host an exclusive participant-only dinner at the Amsterdam branch of the world famous Buddha Bar. Located right in the center of Amsterdam its within walking distance of famous attractions like the Amsterdam canals, the Vondelpark and the Leidseplein.
After dinner all participants are invited to one of Amsterdam's trendiest night clubs where they can party the night away. VIP tables at the club are available upon request and reservation is required.
